Description

The CEYLON CINNAMON tree grows in tropical areas,  in  Sri Lanka. It is an evergreen tree whose bark is harvested every 6 months. The bark is scraped out into small pieces and left to dry for 72 hours. The scent is extracted from these (cinnamon) sticks by steam distillation. The perfume oil that is released is most often used in perfumes.

You can actually use anything from the cinnamon tree for the scent. In addition to the bark, one can obtain oil from the leaves by means of steam distillation.

This oil is cheaper than the oil from the bark and is also used in perfumes, but you can find it more often in soap and food.

Cinnamon has been used in perfumes since the ancient Egypt.
